I'm so sick of politics. What you two gals did was a necessity. How in the world could DRT expel you for meaning well?! My husband visited the Alamo three weeks ago and said it was in deplorable condition. My first ancestor arrival at Washington on the Brazos was in 1827, Bridget McGary, my ggg grandmother. Up the Brazos river from the Gulf and New Orleans she came, at 65, on a barge with her children. I'm in DRT because of her son-in-law, John W. McKisick. He was a first half cousin to James Butler Bonham. They shared the same grandfather, my gggg grandfather. We, in my family, are proud of you. Thank you.

Thank you for your contribution to this great shrine. Giving back to this great state and this great country is a wonderful experience. Our group the Hero's of Texas made up of 7 to 10 year old's perform at the Alamo the first Saturday of every month. As of April 2, 2010 these children have raised $7901.15 for the preservation of the Alamo. Our goal is 10.000.00 by Christmas. If there is anything I can do to help with your organization please do not hesitate to contact me. Mike "Alamo" Bainton

    Dear Friends of the Alamo,
Does your organization support the highly desirable “Grand Restoration Approach” of the Alamo compound back to its full 1836 original size/scope??? For example, the way that Historic Williamsburg, VA has been fully restored by wealthy benefators and citizens and is presently being preserved today.
I and countless other Texans like me would enthusiastically support such an effort. Thank you.

PS If not, can you direct me to an organization that is willing to tackle such a noble cause?

This site is very well put together, however, the Facebook site has too many spam posts. Since I quit Facebook because of security reasons, I'm just letting you ladies know that the spam there is bad for your site. I can read Facebook, but not post there, hence I'm stating this issue here; BTW, what are you all up to, nowadays? Any new projects, etc.?
